Did I mention....

Did I mention that Austin Has a mohawk? I have kind of forgotten about it....and then I remember when people say, "does Austin have a mohawk?" or "what's up with his hair?". In the grand scheme of things...it's no big deal. Plus, he looks pretty darn cute with it too. He loves it. He saw someone at a wrestling match (a really tall mohawk) and mentioned it, but didn't say too much about it. Then once hair cut day came he mentioned wanting one and Trevor said, "okay". It started off pretty small and the more we cut the rest, the taller the mohawk gets. I'm interested to see how long this lasts.
He even wants me to blow dry it and spike it up. It's pretty funny.

AND....Hailey has been chewing on her hair and just getting a bit of everything in it. Well, I told her not to chew on her hair or we'd have to look at getting cut. Well, she called my bluff. She said, "yeah, mommy, I want to get it cut. Short like yours". Well, here it is. Real cute.

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

I haven't been on here in quite a while, so I thought I'd post some recent picts of the kiddos in their St. Patty's day wear. Our little K- bear tossed her cookies (well, toast) this morning, but seems to be bouncing back quite quickly :) Thank you Lord.

Speaking my love language...

A fun day, answers to prayer.....we (Hailey, Trevor and I) got to attend Austin's Valentine's Day party at school today (Kara's sick and a good friend came to stay with her). I love going to his classroom to see his little friends and hug the ones that need it and just have fun with Austin in "his" environment (that he is oh so proud of). A good day, but feeling a bit "antsy"- for lack of a better word- tonight. The girls are in bed and Austin is with Trevor at a basketball game (Trevor has to work at). I sit down to do a few things on the computer and find myself at a blog that a good friend suggested to read. Check it out, it's worth the couple minutes it takes to read it! (especially moms) http://www.aholyexperience.com/search?q=ducks%20of%20a%20feather

So, in the middle of reading this blog entry Trevor called to let me know that Austin was on his way in the house. He said that he didn't even stay for the whole time at the game that he could have, because he looked at Trevor and said, "I'm having fun Dad and I like coming to these with you, but I need to go home and spend some time with Mom." My heart melts and my eyes well up (totally speaking my love language there). So, instead of hurrying him off to bed, (like I had planned because it is late and I have MY stuff to do), we sat and talked and snuggled and read a few books. What a precious moment. What else can I say, but that I am blessed. I am so thankful that the Lord stopped me to read that blog at that very moment. Otherwise I would have missed out on some sweet time and "soft feathers" with my Jaybird.

Thank you Lord for that very important reminder....for which I needed badly.

Princess Sisters

Hailey: "Mommy will you help me put this princess dress on?"
Mommy: "Sure"
Hailey looks at Kara: "Do you want to dress up too?"
Kara: (smiles and claps her hands with excitment)
Hailey: "I'll go get you one"
Another princess is born..... :)

Sleepy beauty

Kara loves playing with just about everything though.....

Creative Hair

One day as I was talking on the phone and typing a bit on the computer (not at the same time-I'm not that talented).....I felt little fingers playing with my hair and then heard the sound of little feet running to and from the bathroom. Then I felt pulls and clips and pinches and swoops in my hair. They had a great time!

Photos are compliments of Austin :)...he had to capture their artwork!

Sisters and Oreos

The last few days Hailey and Kara have been playing so well together. Each morning (when Austin is at school) I can find them Kara's room talking and playing with babies or little people or making food with their kitchen. It's fun to see them bonding. Usually it's Austin and Hailey running around and Kara follows along (which is also great), but it's fun to finally see the sisters being friends and playing together. I do pray they will be great friends. This picture is what I found the other day after doing some laundry. I was looking for the girls...the door was shut and it was quiet and there they were in Kara's crib playing.

And here's Kara with her first taste of an oreo cookie. I think she liked it. :)

Freezing days, Forts, Cookies & Noses...

We have certainly had some freezing cold days here this week. Today has been probably the coldest....below zero plus the wind chill. Today just seemed right to make some cookies. I had been cold all day and that helped get me warmed up. Austin, Hailey and I had a good time. Austin even cracked his first egg. No shells in the mix :) Oatmeal butterscotch...makes your mouth water, doesn't it?

Forts have always been a big deal at our house. Not as much lately, so when we made this one the kids had a real good time in it. And Kara's really getting into playing with the big kids now too- plus it was in her room.
Kara's cheesy smile- gotta love it!

A side note:
This (bloody nose) is what happens on a cold dry day...
it doesn't help when you pick your nose either :)
I couldn't help adding this one :)
