She can walk!

Well, she's actually been taking steps since right before her birthday (the 6th), but the last two weeks she has been full out walking! Of course crawling is still her fastest mode of transportation, but she loves to walk. She had her first "wipe-out" the other day on the pavement when she was trying to chase the neighbor's dog, "Sadie". She got so excited and her feet couldn't keep up with her.....and her hands weren't quick enough to catch her face before it hit the pavement. Thankfully the only scrape was on her chin.

She's so sweet. She just looks so little to be walking. The picture doesn't do it justice, but I haven't figured out the whole video thing on here yet, so this will have to do for now.

Hailey's quilt

Here's Hailey's quilt. Pink and purple with a touch of yellow. She loves it and it is very cozy. All flannel, my favorite and soooo warm. It has even kept her in her own bed -for the most part. We've been finding her fast asleep in her brother's bed on the top bunk. It's cute and all, but neither one of them sleep that well when she does that. Despite our efforts to block her way up there, she has continued to figure out a way. She's resourceful that's for sure. So, since we've put the quilt on her bed, she's been staying in her own bed more. Thankfully....

Hailey Jean # 3

Our Hailey girl is now three. She was a little confused when I told her yesterday was her birthday, because she already had her party. She kept saying, "I'm already three 'cause I already had my Cinderella cake". We did have a special day yesterday though. We hung our birthday sign and balloons. She also had a good friend, Rebekah, over to play while Austin was at school and then we went to the park for a picnic and playing. Then we went out for her free birthday dinner at La Senorita. She had a good day.

You'll notice she's chewing gum. The third birthday is special for so many reasons, but one is that she could chew gum. So far so good. None swallowed to date :) (oooh, however, one in the hair, but not too much trouble getting out)

Accessories were a theme this year, with many fun "dress-up" things. Sunglasses, shoes, backpack, princess dresses, as well as many other beautiful gifts...she is very blessed.




















I finally finished her quilt today, so now she will have a snuggly warm blanket on our cooler and cooler nights. (Maybe I'll post a picture later)

Our sweet Hailey is three. She's all pink and princess, with a wild and fun side too. Not what Mommy would have ordered, but I wouldn't trade her for anything. And surprisingly, I am enjoying pink more and more these days :)

Our little Kara Joy is 1

Our littlest sweetie is now one year old. She certainly is a joy. What a fun year we've had...looking forward to having many more. We had a "double" birthday party for the girls since Hailey's birthday is the 18th and just around the corner. I'll just post the pictures of Kara and save the ones of Hailey for her birthday in a few weeks. Enjoy.

Kara did so well opening her gifts. She really looked at all of them and was talking and laughing. Here she is enjoying opening these great socks. :)

There were lots of guests at our party....Uncle Scott and Aunt Berta, Haddee, Eva, Grandma Rosey, Grandma and Papa Reid, Uncle Jeff and our sweet neighbors, Bobbie and Bernie. On Sunday Grandma and Grandpa Herbert came too and had a great time with our little birthday girls.

It's hard to believe that our little Austin is already 5 and going to school. Oh, how time flys. He had a great time at school (just half days) -although when I left there were many tears. He's excited to go back tomorrow, so that's a good sign. I know he'll do great and be so comfortable before long.

The Van

I don't know about your kids, but our kids could play in the van for many hours at a time. Our van was recently not working well and just sitting in the driveway. It became the most popular place to play. Sometimes it's their police car, sometimes their "home", and sometimes it is actually a form of transportation (van, airplane, boat, etc.) I wasn't quite that creative as a kid, but I did go on many trips to "China" on my grandpa's tractor....

Great Grandma's

The kids and I had a good time visiting with Trevor's grandma this weekend

and playing around on the farm, while Daddy was working on getting his deer blind ready for the fall.
